Paulina Sundin, born in 1970 in Kristianstad, Sweden, grew up in Stockholm. After graduating from Stockholm’s Music Gymnasium, she studied musicology, composition, history of ideas, and music psychology at Uppsala University, followed by studies in electroacoustic music at EMS and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm (1993–1999).

In 1999, she was selected as a Rotary Foundation goodwill ambassador to England, beginning doctoral studies in electroacoustic composition at the University of East Anglia. She completed her PhD at the University of Huddersfield in 2010, receiving the Vice Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Thesis.

Sundin’s music has been performed across six continents, including at ISCM World Music Days (South Korea, 1997), the Australasian Computer Music Conference (New Zealand, 1999), and Rien à Voir (Canada, 1999). She has received commissions from Concerts Sweden, the Swedish national radio, Musik i Väst, and others, including interdisciplinary projects with filmmakers and choreographers. From 2006 to 2008, she was Composer in Residence at CoMA in Växjö.

She has also taught electroacoustic composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where she served as deputy head of department. Since 2011, Paulina Sundin has worked full-time as a freelance composer.
