Tina Andersson is a Swedish composer, conductor, and flutist who gained international attention in 2011 when her choral work Angel was selected as a winning entry in the Abbey Road Studios 80th Anniversary Anthem Competition. The piece was recorded in the iconic Studio One with conductor and composer Eric Whitacre and his ensemble, the Eric Whitacre Singers.
A graduate of the Gothenburg Academy of Music and Drama, Andersson worked for several years as a flutist and conductor before focusing on composition. In 2012, she was commissioned to write music for the Swedish chamber orchestra Camerata Nordica as part of an EU project, with performances in Sweden, Estonia, Italy, and Wales.
In 2013, conductor Jan Yngwe commissioned Andersson to compose for the 35th anniversary of his acclaimed Vocal Art Ensemble.
